NFL Playoffs are set

The 2008 NFL regular season has come to an end, and what a strange season it has been. We have seen the first ever team go 0-16 ~ Detroit Lions, we have seen an 11-5 team ~ New England Patriots miss the playoffs, while an 8-8 team ~ San Diego Chargers has a home playoff game. We saw the biggest turnaround in NFL history as the Miami Dolphins who were 1-15 last season, went 11-5 and won the AFC East, the 10 game turnaround is the most ever! There are 7 teams in the playoffs this year, that missed the playoffs last year. Last Years defending Super Bowl Champions ~ New York Giants, look poised to repeat, they have home field advantage throughout the playoffs in the NFC.

There have also been some monumental collapses also, the New York Jets are sitting home after starting the season 8-3 and handing the 10-0 Tennessee Titans their first loss of the season. The Denver Broncos looked like a lock to win the AFC West in week 13, but the 4-8 San Diego Chargers managed to catch them and end their season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked like they were headed for home field advantage throughouth the playoffs , but they lost their last 4 games and are on the golf course already, and let us not forget the biggest collapse of all, the over hyped and over rated Dallas Cowboys ~ the early season favorites to win Super Bowl 43 are home after a dissapointing 9-7 season. They had a "Win and In" game against their division rivals the Philadelphia Eagles, all they had to do was beat the down trodden Eagles, and they were in the playoffs, instead, they got beat 44-6. To say Dallas has some December and January woes is putting it mildly. To put it in perspective, since 1997, the Arizona Cardinals have more playoff wins, and as many playoff appearances as the Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo's record in December is 5-8, and he is 0-2 on the playoffs with some memorably awful games including the fumbled hold on what would have been the go ahead field goal against the Seattle Seahawks.

The final seedings for the 2008 NFL Playoffs are:

NFC

AFC

The 2008 NFL Playoff Schedule is as follows:
